Intro

• Noam will have some major comments - got delayed by E320 shifts, incoming

 

ELBEX

Q: where does the 40 GeV number for the dump come from? A: this is the safety requirement from the plasma energy doubler (2x max energy XFEL)

Q: space in tunnel crossing? A: should hang from ceiling, but must be checked

Laser

• laser arrived, refurbishing lab, possibily operational by end of year

 

Software and analysis

• meeting a few days go
• add final focus magnet in cad
• push beamline by 10-15 m
• Sasha will start putting things together in G4 model starting from existing one, prioritise check of magnets and distances (to optimise costs, i.e. permanent magnets)

C: model shared last week - A: add quads, check with Sasha

EDS

• trying to hire 1-2 PhDs (timelines limited by visas, not before 1st Sep)
  
  

PDS

• finals steps of preparation for test beam
• tungsten plates fropm germany (3)
• software being prepared

LUPE interest to move from kaldera to elbex

Photon detection system

• spectrometer: almost completed analysis software - to be tested at ZEUS in Michigan
• GRP tests at CLEAR and Italy, analysis ongoing, but performing as expected
• ready to participate in sim of new location

Q: is it ok to first migrate system as is to new location and the possibly tweak it? A: yes
