Career Development for Early Career Researchers – Best Practices and New Horizons

Since 2020, DESY´s Career Center for postdocs COAST has been empowering postdocs to make informed career decision through highly professional career counseling, skills training, and networking opportunities – within and beyond academia.

During this event we will reflect on achievements, share best practices, and explore the evolving role of career centers in supporting early career researchers and the talent management strategy of their institution. We will ask bold questions and dare to look into the future!

This event is for you if you…

• …are interested in (the future of) career support for postdocs and early career researchers – as a career center professional or manager, counselor or coach, researcher or in a leading position in science.

Serviola Beqiraj talks about the future of academic careers in the age of digital transformation – with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, diversity, and structural change.

How do we navigate a world where algorithms increasingly influence our academic paths? This keynote invites you to explore the complex intersection of AI and career development, questioning assumptions, examining contradictions and reflecting on what it means to build an authentic academic future.  How much can we trust algorithms? Where does hidden bias influence the choices we see? And what role should human judgment play in a world where algorithms suggest opportunities, yet people must still define their meaning?
