About the 3 subtopics, the big headlines do not correspond to the topics, but he has no good solution. For the moment it was rephrased:
“Fundamental interactions”
“The origin of mass”
“The early universe”
It follows a discussion on the proposal writing, see modified slides. The text is in overleaf with an internal deadline of 15th August, and writers are assigned.
Question where future colliders go: especially detectors R&D and accelerators. Physics should go in subtopics.
Thomas suggests a different subsection for future colliders. This will go in the 10 pages, so each subtopics will have 2,5 pages. 1 page will be devoted to FC (FCC, Linear Collider, Muon Collider, HALHF, positron source, detectors R&D, ….). It has to be thought in the context of the 7 years of POF V. The reference to MT and DRDs should be there and the reference to the LDG accelerator roadmap.
From the retreat there was no overwhelming direction on a new experiment. It is strategically important to say that it is our ambition to join new experiments, where we are hub, and where we have a physics interest, large enough but not too big.
Question where QC will be, as there is no real result excepted in those 7 years, it is more laying the foundation, it could go in the last 4 pages.
Milestones: make a tentative list while writing and discuss it at one of the next meetings. There are some in the FoPoZiele in 2023.
For stories to tell: what is different for Pof V.
For the FH retreat, also communicate the subtopics structure and explain it. Milestones just starting from the older list? Isabell could ask a session on the milestones. Isabell will prepare a table where we can fill milestones.
