Tour: We will do a special two hours harbour round trip with a 'Barkasse' ship, where you will learn about the Hamburg harbour history, working place and globalisation and will see many interesting parts of the harbour and ships.
Transport:
The starting point of the tour in the harbour can be found here and also at this webpage from the boat company. Please be there on time (6pm).. How to reach that place from DESY: we strongly recommend to use this transport option starting at 4:51 pm with footwalks + S1 S-Bahn from Othmarschen to Stadthausbruecke.. Please take note that at this time transport with the HVV buses can be quite unreliable due to rush hour traffic jams (also the capacity of the buses is limited).
If you don't have the Deutschlandticket you could organise yourself in groups of up to 5 person sharing a HVV daily group ticket ("1-2 Ringe" for 15,60 Euro) which you should buy beforehand (e.g. we strongly recommend to use HVV-App and purchase the tickets with it)
Commuting from DESY main entrance to the Harbour:
Footwalk from DESY to S-Bahn Othmarschen. Take the S1 in the eastern direction.
Exit S-Bahn at Stadthausbruecke and walk over to the ponton from where the Buelow Barkassen start their tours (the endpoint marked in red).
