1. Governance to be commented by 30^th September 2025.

• • Need internal agreement of who represents DESY; that person will internally be responsible to gather all internal opinions before external communication

2. DOI minting for beamline data: workflow of IT-InFa:

Workflow of pilot was described in detail:

• Two SciCat instances: internal and external

• Goal: refer only to external scicat information

1. FS-EC part: provide polished, “summary dataset” in SciCat made from N, e.g. 17, individual dataset in internal SciCat. This means: User creates 18^th (N+1)^th dataset, e.g. of new type “summery dataset”.

2. External service (IT-InFa part):

   1. takes attached, related datasets and updates that summary dataset with information to uniquely identify datafiles to be published (path, date, etc).

   2. Creates a copy of that summary, updated dataset.

   3. Lets the user start/continue publication process from external SciCat.

   4. User fills new metadata of that collection of datasets.

   5. Registers.

 

Step-by-step instruction for the user will be published on Xwiki to emphasize different phases of workflow (when data are no more editable, what user can expect and what not).

 

Schedule was given (slide 5): handover planned for october. End of year: fix workflow for extensions of that pilot. Goal: conceptional agreement that makes implementation clear. Discussion on how to integrate a new dCache layer for publicly accessible data. Detail to be fixed by the end of the year.

 

Also need to think of automatisation of DOI minting. What does DESY, FS policy foresee?
