      User Beam Facilities at Fermilab

Fermilab plays host to two user beam facilities for detector R&D efforts. The Fermilab Test Beam Facility (FTBF) is a high energy, low rate beam facility for characterizations of detectors and small scale experiments. FTBF allows for hadronic beams ranging from ~1 GeV to 120 GeV with particle rates from 1 kHz to 1 MHz. The Irradiation Test Area (ITA) is a space for exposing items to intense low energy protons to test radiation hardness of materials and electronics. The ITA provides 400 MeV protons directly from the Fermilab Linac at rates sufficient to achieve HL-LHC scale doses on one week timescales. The current status of each facility will be discussed along with the the future of user beam facilities at Fermilab as the lab continues to evolve in the DUnE era.
