Building effective, collaborative research spaces, a personal journey
What makes a good research environment? In this talk I will present some personal reminisces and lessons learned over my career from PhD student to Professor, highlighting things that, in my opinion, are useful and effective in creating research spaces where ideas and peoples thrive and produce great science.

3B for planning your career moving forward

Pursuing career in academia (e.g., in Germany) is a long and competitive route, especially to reach a permanent position in science (i.e., Professorship). Thus, it can be daunting for everyone who is walking in this path, especially for females and in their early career path. It can even be more daunting for female researchers who come from other countries to Germany. Various challenges (external or internal), like unfamiliarity and culturally different systems, personal and family limitations, including language would not be easy to navigate. In light of the 10th anniversary of dynaMENT, I would like to take this opportunity to share some tips that will help you better prepare your career plan for the future, especially if you are an international scholar aiming to become a Professor in Germany.

How to acquire research funding with Prof. Dr. Daria Gorelova and Dr. Irene Fernandez-Cuesta

Prof: Gorelova: I am going to share my experience of securing funding for a junior research group. I will offer advice on how to prepare an application and how to stay motivated while doing so.

Dr. Fernandez-Cuesta: Lessons learned from applying for different grants in my career, a special focus will be on EU funding.
