Join us for a fascinating tour at the European XFEL Facility in Schenefeld.
The central element of the exhibition is a model of the 3.4-kilometer-long facility, which begins on the campus of the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY) in Hamburg Bahrenfeld and ends in the European XFEL experimental hall in Schenefeld. Additional interactive exhibits and display boards provide insight into the research conducted there and its potential applications.
The experimental hall – as large as a soccer field – houses seven experimental stations. Here, researchers from all over the world use extremely intense X-ray flashes to identify atomic details of viruses, film chemical reactions, and investigate processes such as those occurring inside planets.
