The Modular Multiscale Approach (MMA) to high‑harmonic generation (HHG) in gases is an open‑source, user‑friendly framework that treats HHG at full dimensionality: linking the non-linear laser-pulse propagation, microscopic response, and finally aggregates the microscopic emitters to form a macroscopic XUV signal. In its first release, it limits to cylindrical geometry for the driving laser, and the microscopic response is treated in 1D. A shared interface is designed to enable interchangeable models at each stage; for example, the numerically costly microscopic response can be replaced by the strong‑field approximation. An overview of the framework, the roadmap and broader perspective, and modules in development is presented.
Complementary to this overview, several recent works arising from the code suite are presented: a fundamental study of the ionisation process, XUV wavefront control on thin targets, phase‑matching optimisation in pre‑ionised media, and asymmetry polarisation gating.
