Julia in ErUM: Get started

This is an event organized by the ErUM-Data-Hub with support from DIG-UM. 

In this short 4 hour workshop you will get to know the basics of Julia, a high-level programming language that has simple Python-like syntax and dynamic typing, while still offering high performance, comparable to languages like C.

Contents: The workshop will consist of a series of keynotes and short lectures. This will cover the basic of the language, from installation, to basic syntax and features, and simple use-cases for a scientist.

Goal: The aim of the workshop is to give you a broad insight into the use of Julia in ErUM. The content is intended to serve as a basis for you to get started with the programming language and to help you decide whether the language could be useful for your work. 

To cap off we will try to answer any open questions from you and we will provide you with extra information and materials if we sparked your interest in Julia.
