Homosexuality was still classified as a "disorder" until 1990.
But being queer is perfectly normal nowadays, isn't it?
We want to use this panel discussion to strengthen the visibility of our queer coworkers at DESY and XFEL and support the LGBTQIA+ community on our campus.
Together we want to pursue questions such as:
- Why do we need queer representation at work?
- And why does this, in fact, concern everyone?
At the same time, we want to give all employees a better understanding of the realities of life for queer people and show how everyone can contribute to a supportive, non-discriminatory working environment.

The event will take place in German, with simultaneous translation to German sign language. Unfortunately, due to limited funds, we cannot provide a translation into English but subtitles can be turned on in English in Zoom.
