With recent advancements in novel compact accelerators, particularly plasma accelerators and laser-driven X-ray sources, these technologies are now reaching maturity. This makes it an ideal moment to expand the application of compact accelerators across academia, medicine, security, and industry.

To support this pivotal research momentum, the European project EPACE invites participants to the first EPACE Summer School, taking place from April 27 to May 8, 2026, in Crete.

This ten-day program offers comprehensive training on the Basics of Compact Accelerators and Their Applications, alongside sessions focused on transferable skills such as ethics and diversity, self-management, communication, and scientific writing. In addition, a dedicated PhD Supervision Workshop will be held exclusively for EPACE doctoral candidates and their supervisors.

Internationally recognized researchers and trainers will deliver lectures and topical talks, providing insights into the latest developments and innovations in compact accelerator science. The program will be complemented by social events and excursions in the wonderful surroundings of Heraklion, including a visit to the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH).
