P Collier, Head of Beams Department at CERN, will report on the LHC. The technological challenges of the collider, its commissioning and current operation will be addressed. The systematic improvement of the collider performance over the past two years will be explained. The prospects for even higher luminosity and the existing limitations and challenges will be introduced.
