Description
Background on the electronic structure of molecules will be presented leading to
how QMC for molecules arose. Versions of the approach will be summarized
including the algorithm that has dominated computations to date. Aspects that
impact computational efficiency will be described and selected applications
presented to provide insight on the capability of the method.
