Description
The Röntgen-Ångström-Cluster was launched in Summer 2009 by the governments of Sweden and Germany. The aim of the Röntgen-Ångström-Cluster is to strengthen research using neutrons and photons in materials and structural biology research and to promote the efficient use of large facilities available in Sweden and Northern Germany (see http://www.rontgen-angstrom.eu/about/memorandum-of-understanding for further details).
Since than numerous workshops were held within the Röntgen-Ångström cluster (http://www.rontgen-angstrom.eu/sample-page/summaries-of-workshops).
Among them are two workshops that focused explicitly on materials science:
- first German-Swedish meeting on experimental materials science, Göttingen University, November 28-29, 2011
- second Swedish-German workshop on special topics in materials science, Stockholm University, Sweden, August 28-29, 2012
The series of workshops on materials science will be continued by the third German-Swedish workshop in Spring 2013.
The focus of the third German-Swedish workshop on materials science will be on in situ method development for materials science with neutron and synchrotron radiation.
