Status of neutrino oscillations and sterile neutrinos

After reviewing the present status of conventional three-neutrino oscillations, we will discuss the phenomenological situation of sterile neutrino models, presenting a reanalysis of global short-baseline neutrino oscillation data. We will show that, although the new predictions for the antineutrino flux from nuclear reactors indicate a deficit which can be interpreted in terms of oscillations between the known active neutrinos and new sterile states, it is still difficult to reconcile all the data within the framework of sterile neutrino models.
