Description
Astronomical observations suggest the existence of an unknown dark matter constituting a large fraction of the Universe, yet its nature remains a mystery. It is possible that dark matter could be produced at the LHC as pairs of particles. Possible experimental signatures have recently been searched for by the ATLAS and CMS experiments, providing complementary approaches for direct experimental detection. Given that dark matter cannot be detected directly, these searches are quite challenging. The talk will discuss the results based on searches using the data obtained in 2011 and 2012 at the LHC.
