Description
A powerful tool to study Calabi-Yau manifolds is the two-dimensional N=(2,2) gauged linear sigma model. Using the two-sphere partition function of such two-dimensional gauge theories, I present a new approach to calculate the exact Kähler potential of the quantum Kähler moduli space of Calabi-Yau n-folds, for any n. In their asymptotic large volume regime the quantum corrections arise from both perturbative- and non-perturbative-in-alpha' corrections. The former corrections are associated to the characteristic log Gamma class of the Calabi-Yau n-fold, while the latter corrections encode certain Gromov-Witten invariants.
