Description
We will discuss the dimensional reduction of 4D, N = 2 supergravity
coupled to vector multiplets over a compact timelike dimension. This
provides a useful technique for constructing new black hole solutions
directly from the equations of motion, particularly when combined with
a formulation of special geometry based on real Darboux coordinates.
Mathematically this induces a map, called the temporal c-map, from a
projective special Kahler manifold to a para-quaternion Kahler, which
we prove for the first time. Solutions correspond to totally geodesic
submanifolds.
