Das BMBF-Verbundforschungstreffen bei DESY vom 9. - 11. Juli 2008 versammelt alle in der gegenwärtigen BMBF-Verbundforschungsperiode geförderten Projekte an FLASH und PETRA III.
Das Treffen vermittelt einen breiten Überblick über die mit den Projekten verfolgten wissenschaftlichen Ziele und Methoden. Es dient gleichzeitig dem Austausch der Projekte untereinander. Daher ist es geplant, dass alle Projekte die Gelegenheit bekommen, ihre Ziele und den bereits erreichten Status einem breiteren Kreis der Nutzer in einem Vortrag darzulegen.
Speziell auch für die jüngeren Projektbeteiligten wird es zusätzlich die Möglichkeit geben, während einer Postersitzung ihre konkreten Projektpläne vorzustellen und projektübergreifend zu diskutieren.
Das Programm wird allen Projektbeteiligten zudem die Gelegenheit geben, sich unmittelbar vor dem Treffen oder aber im Anschluss an dieses sowohl mit den einzelnen Teilprojekten intern als auch mit den Ansprechpartnern bei DESY zu besprechen (Satellitenmeeting).

The “BMBF-Verbundforschungstreffen” (collaborative research meeting for projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research) will take place from the 9th to 11th of July 2008, at DESY. It will convene all projects supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research in the actual research period which are related to FLASH and PETRA III.
The meeting will give a broader overview over the scientific aims and methods which are pursued by these projects. At the same time, it will serve as a platform for all projects for the exchange of information.
Hence, all projects will be given the opportunity to present their aims and the status reached to a broad community of users.
Junior scientists involved in the projects will be given the chance to present definite plans for projects in a poster session, with the aim of discussing these plans in connection to other projects in the field.
Also, the program schedule will provide the possibility for everybody involved in the projects to discuss matters internally among individual sub-projects as well as with DESY contact persons (satellite meetings). This can be straight before the meeting or subsequent to the meeting.
