This is the first workshop in the framework of our ERC Synergy Grant: Frontiers in Attosecond X-ray Science: Imaging and Spectroscopy (AXSIS). The workshop will focus on advances in compact accelerators and X-ray sources and their applications in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, and Medical Imaging. The workshop will take place in the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science on the DESY campus in Hamburg, Germany, from Sunday afternoon, July 19th, till Tuesday, July 21st, 2015. After the workshop there will be lab tours in the morning of July 22nd. The purpose of this workshop is to give guidance to the research within this Synergy Grant and to exchange ideas and foster collaboration among our team and leading national and international research groups to speed up the development of attosecond hard X-ray sources and their use.
