At XFEL, EUCALL (European Cluster of Advanced Laser Light Sources) work package UFDAC (Ultrafast Data Acquisition) is organizing a workshop focused on GPU and FPGA development. The main intent of this workshop is to discuss the technology, tools and workflows of both platforms. We not only do some presentations but there will be sessions on hands-on programming in both fields. The sessions will not run in parallel so all the participants will be able to learn both in same workshop and will not miss any event. European XFEL will conduct FPGA session and HZDR will conduct GPU session. The people attending the workshop come from different institutes and have different experiences with one or both platforms. The idea is to increase the participant's knowledge in both fields to an appropriate level, in order to have a proper discussion when choosing a platform to tackle a particular problem. Another aim of this workshop is to familiarize our fellow scientists with both technologies. So, they have enough understanding of both technologies and our discussions in future would become more fruitful. We have also organized keynote sessions to get input from industry experts. It includes Xilinx, Intel PSG (previously known as Altera) and many more... Registration is open! Please register as early as possible. Participants will be considered in order of registration. Maximum numbers of participants are limited to 45. Note: Everyone should bring laptop for programming.
