Interacting UV fixed points known as "asymptotic safety" are of high
interest per se. In particle physics they open up new directions for model
building beyond asymptotic freedom. After a brief review of recent advances
I discuss the prospect for asymptotically safe extensions of the
Standard Model.
A fingerprint are new matter fields charged under the SM gauge groups.
Existing constraints and experimental signatures for the LHC and future
colliders are highlighted.
