Description
The successful operation and development of novel superconducting undulators (SCUs) continues at the Advanced Photon Source. In the last year and a half a new helical superconducting undulator (HSCU) has been designed and built. It is under testing now, and is scheduled for the installation at the APS storage ring by the end of this year. Also, a novel SCU, called SCAPE, for production of variably polarized radiation is being designed. A short prototype of HTSCU has been built and tested recently. APS is planning to install 9 SCUs at the upgraded storage ring in the future.
