Description
Self-interacting dark matter provides an interesting alternative dark matter
candidate. In my talk I will motivate self-interacting dark matter models from
an astrophysical perspective demonstrating their impact on structure formation
on galactic scales. I will also discuss first attempts of simulating inelastic
models of self-interacting dark matter and show how their impact on structure
formation differs from commonly employed elastic models.
