Description

Detector GVD (Gigaton Volume Detector) is the next-generation neutrino telescope which is recently constructed in the largest and deepest freshwater lake, lake Baikal. Its construction started in 2015 and since then three independent clusters, 864 Optical Modules (OMs), were already installed and data are collected continuously. The first construction phase of the detector with 8 clusters (2304 OMs) is going to be finished in 2020 covering 0.4 km3. The knowledge of the analytical formula of the pulses created in the OMs can be very valuable. It can be used to compare properties of different OMs, control quality of produced pulses, study sampling effects, improve MC simulations and especially detect and unfold double pulses which are produced by atmospheric muon bunches and more importantly also by astrophysical tau neutrinos. In this contribution the analytical formula for GVD pulses is going to be introduced and results of its above mentioned applications are going to be presented.
