DOIT coffee meeting with Markus Aspelmeyer

Please be invited to another instalment of our DOIT Breakfast Meeting series -this time a Coffee Meeting with Prof. Markus Aspelmeyer, keynote speaker of this years DESY Science Day. Mr. Aspelmeyer studied philosophy and physics, and worked on quantum optics and quantum information. After winning several prices and an ERC grant, he was appointed professor of the group 'Quantum Foundation and Quantum Information on the Nano- and Microscale' at University of Vienna. His work includes - among others - quantum optical control of solid-state nano- and micro-mechanical devices, as well as micro-mechanical measurements of weak gravitational forces.This year, he was elected member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences.The Coffee Meeting will take place on 19.11.2018 (DESY Science Day) from 14:00 to 15:00 in SR 3a in building 1b.
