Machine aspects - Florian
- Meeting with RP group and Winni Decking & Reinhard Brinkmann Friday to discuss the different possible areas.
-> Florian to send around summary after the meeting.
Laser aspects - Christian & Matt
- Laser groups need to discuss in detail exactly who does what and how the work fits together. Jena group to meet Andi in January to start discussions. Will continue during LUXE workshop in February (tbc, see AoB).
- Andi hiring a student and post-doc. If anyone knows of good candidates for a post-doc; if so, please get in touch with Andi.
- Jena hiring a student for early next year.
Detectors - Sasha
- Jena group have calculations at lower energies, 2 GeV, which have a different form of the positron energy spectrum.
- Compare these results in more detail with the plots Sasha showed.
- Jena group to run their calculations at higher energies.
Other issues:
- Look at correlation of e- and e+ energies
- Why is there a cut-off or start of the distribution at ~1 GeV and finish at ~16 GeV ?
- Note that the MC files for these predictions are available for all to use. To be criculated.
- Need to know gamma ray spectrum really well. Measure in test beam and compare to GEANT ?
Detectors - Marius
- Why does the number of positrons saturate as a function of energy ?
- Detector acceptance as a function of energy ?
- Calculations use circular polarisation for the laser; Christian says the laser would most likely have linear polarisation.
AoB
- Propose to have a 2-3 day LUXE workshop in February; a doodle will be circulated.
- Will also circulate a doodle poll for the next Monthly meeting in January.
