Description

In the advent of gravitational wave astronomy, precise and flexible theoretical descriptions will be instrumental to analyse the characteristics of compact binary systems. I review recent progress in the calculation of non-relativistic corrections in the framework of an effective field theory, based on techniques adopted from particle physics.
