Description
Heavy ion collisions performed at RHIC and LHC have collected increasing amounts of evidence for the existence of the quark-gluon plasma. Jets can be used to probe this new phase of matter by measuring the influence of the in-medium interactions on several jet observables. In this talk I will review an effective theory approach to the definition and determination of an appropriate quantity to characterize these interactions.
