Description
The BMV experiment is devoted to observe for the first time the magnetic linear birefringence induced by a magnetic field in a vacuum. This is a very fundamental prediction of Quantum ElectroDynamics that has not yet verified experimentally. The BMV experiment is set up the Laboratoire National des Champs Magnétiques Intenses (LNCMI) of Toulouse, France.
I will detail its present status and I will report on recent results. I will finally present future perspectives.
