Description
In this talk, I will introduce a developing field of (large-field)
inflation in supergravity using a single chiral superfield,
particularly focusing on the method utilizing the shift-symmetric
quartic term in the inflaton Kahler potential. The quartic term has a
dual role: it prevents the inflaton potential becoming negative at the
large field region, and it stabilizes the scalar superpartner of the
inflaton. This method does not require tuning, but once tuning is
accepted, almost arbitrary positive semidefinite scalar potentials can
be constructed.
