Echoes from gravitational waves

On February 11, 2016, the LIGO and Virgo collaborations announced the first direct detection of gravitational waves. In this talk I will discuss—after a brief introduction—what are the possible implications of this discovery from the point of view of beyond the Standard Model physics.
