Carrer de l'Hospital is a side street of the Rambla, which starts right at that metro stop "Liceu".

Airport to Barcelona City Centre

To reach Barcelona City Centre from the Airport by public transport, there are 3 options:

  1. By bus, from terminal T1 or T2:  Aerobus A1 or A2 (depending on the airport terminal) to Plaça Catalunya. Every 5 or 10 min, the travel time is ~25-30 min. Single ticket 5.90 EUR (including return 10.20 EUR), to be paid at the ticket machines or the bus driver (this is a private company, so no changing to other bus or metro lines possible with the same ticket). This is the most expensive, but fastest option non-stop to the city centre near Plaça Catalunya. If you travel directly to the workshop venue, take the green metro line L3 (direction Zona Universitaria) from Plaça Catalunya to "Liceu" (one stop) or walk (12 min).

  2. By train, from terminal T2 only:  trains (R2-Nord line) every 30 min (xx:08 and xx:38) to Barcelona-Sants (Central) Station and Barcelona Passeig de Gracia (~25-30 minutes travel time). Single ticket 4.10 EUR. There is the option to use the T-10 ticket for 1 zone (carnet of 10 tickets) that costs only 9.95 EUR, which in addition allows to change to the buses and metros once arrived in Barcelona using the same ticket (which is not possible with the single ticket). Tickets are sold at the machines or vending desks in the station. This is the cheapest, but least frequent option (and only from T2). If you travel directly to the workshop venue, get off the train at Passeig de Gracia and change to the green metro line L3 (direction Zona Universitaria) and get off at "Liceu".

  3. By metro, from terminal T1 or T2: Metro Line 9 has just arrived to the airport since March. Every 7 min. However, it goes only to the periphery of the city centre within ~25-30 minutes travel time; to go to the centre like Plaça Catalunya or to the workshop venue, one has to change to other metro lines, which will add another 10-20 minutes depending on the destination. Single ticket 4.50 EUR (the T-10 ticket is explicitly NOT valid for going to the airport, only to all other metro stations...), sold at machines or vending desks. If you travel directly to the workshop venue, get off the train at Zona Universitaria and change to the green metro line L3 (direction Trinitat Nova) and get off at "Liceu".

Please take care of your belongings at any time, especially on the way from and to the airport, in the metro and at busy places like Placa Catalunya or Las Ramblas. As in many big city, pickpockets operate in such areas.
