Description
This contribution summarizes the low-level radio frequency (LLRF) commissioning of the European X-ray free electron laser (XFEL) accelerator, with a special emphasis on the effort placed into developing automation tools necessary for such a large scale accelerator. In particular, the strategy for automatic firmware and software deployment for the MicroTCA LLRF systems will be presented.
Based on the experience of this first year of operation, the presentation will also touch the topics of system health, failure and maintenance.
