Description
Several disk storage systems have been evaluated at the
RHIC/USATLAS Computing
Facility as part of an ongoing project to identify solutions
capable of accommodating
a large projected growth in storage demand over the next
five years. A preference is
given toward lower-cost, high-density, commodity solutions
using SATA and SAS drives.
This talk will survey the testing methodology,
configuration, and performance of a
number of products thus far evaluated including the SunFire
x4500 (Thumper).
