TA3 weekly meeting

Europe/Berlin
Zoom link
  •  It is consensus that the work in TA3 is organized in four categories: statistical methods (Kevin and Joe), numerical methods and simulations (Susannne and Frithjof), machine learning methods (Gregor and Marcus), and methods for analyses across datasets (Joe, Thomas).
  • By default each category corresponds to a WP. Each WP can have a few deliverables. A WP should address an issue common to astro and pahn, ideally even more general. Specific prototypes to demonstrate the usefulness of the solution are fine.
  • Please contact the WP leaders if you want to contribute to a WP.
  • Luigi mentioned the issue of FAIR principles for software. It has to be seen where this fits in the PUNCH proposal.
  • Use cases are important to justify our WPs. Joe represents TA3 in the use case group.
  • Thomas S will give everybody read access to the LoI overleaf document so that comments can be collected. The key message what TA3 is about and why this is important for the NFDI should be clear from the first sentences.
  • The next step is to define deliverables for each WP. the plan is to have a first version in two weeks. We will collect the deliverables in an appendix of the LoI overleaf document. Marcus and Thomas K can edit the document.
