The school will feature courses in Mathematica and Maple relevant to the area of quantum scattering amplitudes within theoretical physics.  It is supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network SAGEX.

The School will be held entirely online, via Zoom, from Jan 4-13, 2021, starting at 9AM Central European Time.  It is directed at graduate students and junior postdocs in theoretical particle physics and mathematical physics with a background and interest in scattering amplitudes.  In addition to SAGEX students, a limited number of students from outside the network will be invited to attend.  You may apply through the registration page.

The School will feature five lecture series,

  • Wolfram Inc: Advanced Topics in Mathematica;
  • Claude Duhr: Differential Equations and Calculation of Feynman Integrals;
  • Yang Zhang: Introduction to Algebraic Geometry;
  • Ben Page: Large Ansatze and Finite-Field Methods;
  • Maplesoft Inc: Introduction to Maple;

as well as three projects to be carried out collaboratively by teams of students.

Here is the final schedule for the school:

SAGEX students are expected to attend, and should register.  Other students wishing to attend should apply via the registration page, providing a CV; a brief description of their thesis or current research; a link to their list of publications; a brief description of their familiarity with Mathematica and Maple; along with the contact information of their thesis advisor or another senior scientist familiar with their work.  Students must have a personal or institutional license for Mathematica and for Maple, and must have access to sufficient internet bandwidth to participate in Zoom sessions.  In order to receive full consideration, outside students must have registered and upload requested information by Dec. 10, 2020.

Euro flag This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No. 764850 (SAGEX).
