Intro:
Daniel:
- went to 900 nm wavelength —> a bit smaller energy of the Comptons
- electrons emittance is the dominant contribution to the uncertainty
- 1 ps pulse duration? —> this is OK.
- need to know what is the optimal spot size
- slide 16: transverse momentum doesn’t look too small and it will affect the reco of e+e- pairs? —> will need to see this with the pairs coming from the main IP.
- don’t we have Comptons which produce pairs in the ICS IP? —> no, xi is too small.
- Beate:
- focusing to different sizes at the ICS IP can be done but the magnets have to be strong enough but ~5-20 um seems OK. —> need a talk from the machine person (focusing options…)
- where do we actually do the focusing of the electron beam? —> ~20 m upstream the LUXE setup.
- Sasha:
- in the case of the target there’s also multiple scattering so there’s no clear correlation between the focusing and the number of pairs. (on the question where do focus the beam - the main IP or the ICS IP?)
- Sasha has the function which generates the electrons with correlated position and momentum —> please share.
Tom:
- I’d wait with large scale submissions (more BXs etc) except for what’s needed for the CDR fixes
-
Arka:
- add the relative difference in angle before and after the window
