Description
My name is Alisha Chromey. I am a doctoral student at Iowa State University and a member of the VERITAS research collaboration. My contributions to VERITAS have covered a range of projects: data analysis, paper committees, calibration studies, software maintenance, and multiple observing shifts. My thesis is dedicated to developing a maximum likelihood analysis for VERITAS observations, implemented with Gammapy software. I have experience in mentorship with multiple high school, graduate, and undergraduates in VERITAS research projects, as well as teaching assistantships in undergraduate-level physics and astronomy courses.
I expect to defend my dissertation before the end of 2021 and I am searching for a postdoc position in astronomy/astrophysics. My hope is to continue my career in astronomy, with my preference to remain in high-energy astrophysics projects, where I can also give back in the form of mentorship and outreach.
I presented my ICRC poster on July 13th, which you can see here.
