Squeeze and Probe Quantum Matter

by Johan Chang (University of Zurich)

Description

Uniaxial pressure, as a tuning parameter, has delivered many new exciting results on quantum matter systems - including topological  materials, superconductors and correlated electron systems. In the past two years, we have been probing correlated superconductors with high energy x-rays (at P21.1) upon application of uniaxial pressure. In this seminar, will present the different pressure cells developed and tested at P21.1.

Furthermore, it will be showun how a long standing problem, related to charge stripe order structure, in high-temperature superconducting cuprates has been solved.
