Special Event: How to Communicate Your Science

Europe/Berlin
Description

This talk is about (why and) how to communicate your science, something that is important for all physicists independent of their career stage. Some examples on strategies and tips & tricks on how to get started with science communication will be discussed.

Freya Blekman has been communicating science since she was a bachelor student and was recently recruited through the Helmholtz Recruitment Initiative as Lead Scientist at DESY and professor at UHH. Besides communicating science, she searches for new particles at the LHC and is coordinating the outreach activities for the over 4000 physicists in one of the large LHC collaborations, the Compact Muon Solenoid. While the speaker obviously comes from a collider physics background, the talk is intended for a general physics audience.
