Objective Recuitment vs. Unconscious Bias – “Mission impossible”?

Am I really objective?

Statistically, 75% of all job interviews are decided in the first 5 minutes. Why is that? How unbiased are we really towards applicants? How much do we perhaps let ourselves be deceived by first impressions? Is my gut feeling really, always right?

In science, we adhere to good practices to conduct the scientific research.  However, good practice should also be applied to other fields of work, such as during recruitment processes.

In this training, we would like to provide you with ways and means to reflect on these points. The objective of this training is to provide you with the guidelines for good practice in job interview, from the moment we welcome the candidate till the decision making. In addition to basic information on the structure and process of job interviews, we will present you examples of the unconscious biases that could arise during the interview process ultimately affecting the hiring decisions. Being informed of methods to conduct job interviews and being aware of unconscious biases, will smooth the process towards the  final assessment of the candidates as objectively as possible.
