Description

Promoting the synchrotron radiation facility SESAME in German research communities.

SESAME has been set up in a unique international collaboration among member states in the Middle East / Eastern Mediterranean. Two new state-of-the-art beamlines – one funded by an EC H2020 grant for micro-tomography (BEATS) and the other funded by the Helmholtz Association for soft X-ray science (Helmholtz-SESAME Beamline HESEB) have been added to SESAME to substantially enhance its analytical capabilities. SESAME has a potential to bring strong opportunities to scientific communities in the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean region, and to promote international scientific collaboration worldwide.

The SESAME-German Info Day is targeted towards interested researchers and stakeholders from German institutions & communities with the aim to increase the awareness and visibility of SESAME and its specific experimental capabilities. The info day should also help to build up more user collaboration between Germany and the SESAME region to exploit opportunities at the existing and upcoming new beamlines.

This event will be held on Fri, 21 April 2023 at DESY in the FLASH seminar room and is organized by DESY, SESAME, the HESEB and BEATS consortia in partnership with the Komitee Forschung mit Synchrotronstrahlung KfS.
