Call for Research Reviewers
for the support to the evaluation of the EURIZON Fellowship Call
“Remote Research Grants for Ukrainian researchers” applications
Dear scientists we have more than 500 registered volunteer reviewers and we are extremely grateful for this wonderful solidarity. We are now looking for few more volunteer experts in few specific scientific domains. So please have a look at the available topics left (see registration form).
We thank all the scientists from all regions of the world who have contributed with their expertise and generosity to this extraordinary joint effort for the benefit of our Ukrainian applicants. We are honored to be part of this comunity.
On April 1st 2023, the EURIZON Project Secretariat launched a call for applications for the Fellowship Programme: “Remote Research Grants for Ukrainian Researchers”, dedicated to supporting Ukrainian researchers whose work is hampered or prevented by the war. These temporary grants, funded by the European Union (through EURIZON H2020 project, grant agreement 871072) are intended to enable Ukrainian research teams to continue their scientific work, remotely, by carrying on research projects in collaboration with partners from European research infrastructures and institutes.
More than 750 applications were submitted, 10 times more than expected.
Due to this extremely high response, the EURIZON Secretariat is currently looking for additional independent external reviewers volunteering to support the evaluation of the research proposals in a broad range of scientific and technical topics, across the following ESFRI thematic areas:
DATA, COMPUTING & DIGITAL RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURES;
ENERGY;
ENVIRONMENT;
HEALTH & FOOD;
PHYSICAL SCIENCES & ENGINEERING;
SOCIAL & CULTURAL INNOVATION;
The external evaluation process requires an independent remote/distant evaluation, consisting of an individual assessment of the assigned application/s (about 2 hours per application).
We regret to inform that the work of the reviewers, contrary to what initially planned, is on a voluntary basis and not compensated, this will allow us to dedicate the full budget to the Ukrainian scientists directly and to keep a decent success rate. We are grateful for your kind availability and enthusiasm in helping us support Ukrainian researchers.
The expression of interest is NOT binding: you will be contacted by EURIZON Secretariat and will be able to ask further questions and clarifications.
We would appreciate if you can express your interest as soon as possible. Please don’t hesitate to share this call for reviewers to your colleagues and community.
Important notes:
1-Due to the nature of the call and to avoid possible conflicts of interest we cannot accept the candidature of reviewers from Ukraine; we do accept and encourage candidatures from Ukrainian reviewers that are working abroad and are affiliated to foreign Institutes since at least 5 years.
2-We are a little team and it takes quite some work to organize the evaluation documents and the matching between the reviewer and the applications, so we kindly ask you to kindly consider to volunteer to evaluate at least 2 applications ( this is not an obligation, of course). Thank you! Please note it might take few days before we are able to reply to all evaluators. THANK YOU!
