General information
If you are interested in vivid research discussions about a selection of interesting problems, you are welcome to assist to the tournament as public on February 10 - 11, in the FLASH seminar room.
The competition consists of Physics Fights. In each round of a fight, the Reporting team shortly present its research on one of the problems, then the Opposing team criticize and discuss their research, trying to highlight strong points, point at shortcomings and propose improvements to the Reported solution.
The teams are judged on the quality of the experimental and theoretical work they report, but also on their ability to take part in a scientific debate in an insightful way.
The winning team will represent Germany and face 20 other national teams in the week long international final in Zurich in April.
In addition, we are always happy to have more judges. If you are interested in being a member of the jury for any of the fight, please contact Benoît Richard. The only requirement is to have a Master degree in physics (or related field). No prior experience with the tournament or the problems is necessary, and we will give a short introduction and guidelines to all judges.
