Description

Workshop on modelling Einstein Telescope low-frequency control and inter-platform motion

The workshop

We are pleased to announce a small in-person workshop with the focus on low-frequency controls and inter-platform motion for the Einstein Telescope (ET-LF). We plan to improve our understanding in these areas, interaction between Work Packages (especially exchange of knowledge between Suspension and Controls), and work out the procedure to derive realistic requirements for the Einstein Telescope. Some time will also be dedicated to reviewing and improving the modelling tools themselves, organized as a "Hackathon" parallel session.

Where and when

Hamburg, Germany, 4-6 March 2024 (2.5 days Monday to Wednesday, with Wednesday half a day until lunchtime). The workshop takes place near DESY Campus, the address is Notkestraße 9, 22607 Hamburg. Detailed directions can be found here.

Conditions

The workshop is supported by Cluster of Excellence: Quantum Universe. There's no event fee. We provide: coffee & cookies at coffee breaks, lunch (except on the last day). On the first day an informal dinner (self-payed directly there) is planned in a restaurant. Participants are expected to book their travel and accommodation themselves.

There might be (still) a possibility to stay at DESY Guesthouse on campus, please contact organizers if you are interested in that option.

Registrations are now closed. We are looking forward to welcome all registered participants in Hamburg!
