TA7-First General Meeting

Europe/Berlin
Baida Achkar (Georg-August-Universitaet Goettingen - II. Physicalishes Institut), Frank Bertoldi (Universität Bonn)

Minutes from the meeting on 08.11.2023

Main discussed items in the meeting. Let me know, please, if I missed any important item.

- Discussion about the use of DESY tools for internal communication + document share. Mattermost is well suited for internal communication, but opinions about DESY Syncandshare differ (PUNCH data protection, international collaboration, DESY tools show tricky behavior!,...). Let's start using DESY tools syncandsahre to store and share material for our collaborative work within TA7. We can come back with feedback. Baida will create a TA7 folder with a public link.

- We should not forget to update the WPs players MB presentation document for the upcoming MB meeting on Monday 11/20/2023. 1 slide (table) + 1 slide for details to facilitate reporting during the meeting.

- WP3 colleagues will start interviewing TA leaders (perhaps WP leaders as well) to get input on materials/results relevant to TA7 WPs. A one-hour monthly interview with 1 TA leader + 3(4) members of TA7 is recommended. The date and time of the first interview will be announced later. TA7 services and offers must/should emerge from the services of the PUNCH TAs. TA Leaders should consider interacting as a priority.

- Start preparing for the editing of the interim report, due in September 2024. Christiane gave some explanations about the DFG template. Baida will present the result of a close reading of the template at the next TA7 meeting. Better prepare early and fill out the information before the summer holidays (Frank)

- Pranav presented his work on dataset preparation: “Making Effelsberg data openly available” (for now to scientists), this is related to TA4 activities. Recommended to speak to Ramesh to make data usable in the context of citizen science .

- Victoria presented the review/paper that she and Michael are preparing on the existing initiatives, methods and opportunities in citizen science. Progress. Ramesh recently joined them in this task but more time is needed. The date for this delivery has been postponed by a few months. Victoria (and perhaps Pranav?) will attempt to collect information on the status and available materials of the PUNCH Citizen Science project, which is analyzing MeerKAT pulsar data using Einstein@Home.

- To all TA members, please think about uploading material you presented at the meeting to the indico page. Thank you very much for your contributions and this productive meeting.

Baida
