Description

For over two decades, dCache.ORG has provided software used at more than 80 sites worldwide, providing reliable services for WLCG experiments and others. This can be achieved only with a well-established process from a whiteboard, where ideas are created through packages installed on the production systems. Since early 2013, we have moved to git as our source code management system and to GitHub for our source code hosting service. The dCache developers have recently adopted the GitLab CI and Kubernetes infrastructure that DESY-IT Group centrally provides.

This contribution will show how techniques and tools are used by dCache developers to manage code and releases, handle external contributions, and maintain the quality and reliability of the provided packages.
