Join Our Hands-On Course "Building and Simulating a Gaseous Detector with GEMs"
As part of the Terascale Detector Workshop, we invite you to participate in an interactive hands-on course designed to explore the construction, operation and simulation of a gaseous detector based on GEM (Gas Electron Multiplier) foils.
What You’ll Learn:
- Assembly: Gain practical experience in assembling a GEM-based gaseous detector, including its components and functionality.
- Operation: Use and operate the assembled detector in a small lab setup and measure first signals with your detector.
- Detector Simulation: Learn how to simulate the performance of your detector using special software tools (Garfield++) to analyze and optimize its behavior.
The school starts on Monday, March 17th at 10:00. If you are interested in joining, please indicate this during the registration process.
